He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Ripplinger; his children, Allen Schwan of Warwick, ND, Dianne Pearce (Sam) of Pinedale, WY, Mark Schwan (Diane) of Devils Lake and Brian Schwan of Devils Lake; his siblings, Fran Schwan and Simon Schwan of McVille, ND; and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Lovett Rank of Hitchcock, SD, Raymond Ripplinger (Sally Gaa) of Loveland, CO, Peter Ripplinger (Jeanette Gust) of Jamestown, ND and Frances Walker of Walcott, ND.
