He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Koppen and Erma Koppen (Gesellchen); his wife Donna Kilmer (McDermaid); his grandchildren, Stacie Rickert and Ryan Eback; and his great grandchild Zachary Helmoski.
He is survived by: his children, Michele Russell (Ronald) of Newnan, GA, Mike Kilmer (Judy) of Grafton, ND, Melody Kittleson of Grafton, Mary Jo Dimmler (Mark) of Crary, ND, Melinda Tessman (Mike) of Baxter Springs, KS, Mark Kilmer of New Egypt, NJ and Kim Wheeler (Aaron); his sister Karen Walker (Joe) of Fargo, ND; his nephew Jasen Walker (Amanda); his niece Kayla Walker of Hebron, ND; and his brother-in-law Dwayne McDermaid (Dorothy) of Streeter, IL. He is also survived by 6 children.
