He was predeceased by: his parents, William Patterson and Pearl Patterson (Erickson); his half-siblings, Russell Patterson, Harold Short, Robert Short, Russell Short, Louella Short Kartes, Ruby Short Dame and Dorothy Short Nordstrom; and his stepmother Edith Ridley Patterson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Big Pembina Cemetery Fund.
