He was predeceased by: his parents, Norma Jean Staples and Aloysius Winanz; his siblings, Dove Johnson, Kevin Johnson and Sheila Sitting Crow; his grandparents, Iva Deane, Donald Good Bird, Gilbert Eagle and Lloyd Fox; his aunt Yvonne Patty Eagle; and his nephew Cameron Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Damon Hopkins, Rosa Winanz, Carmen Winanz and Denby Winanz, Jr.; his grandchildren, Love Melody, Wiconi Suta Win, Cehuglata Win, Akisá, Gilma, Robert, Genesis Joseph, Vannessa Rose, Seth Damian, Teyana Renae, Natalie Faith, Sylvia Faye and Sylvester Cletus; his siblings, Lloyd Johnson, Pat Staples (Audrey), Daniel Staples, Becky Overlie (Kevin) and Emily Staples; and his aunt Connie Price. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
