He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Schmidt and Annette Schmidt (Hatfield); and his siblings, Robert, Walter, Lewis, Arne, Catherine Lang, Evelyn Zimmerman, Ruth Eichele, Geneva Schulz, Marilyn Naish and Jeannette Meidinger.
He is survived by: his wife Camille Miller; and his children, Jeff Schmidt (Mary Dietz) of Steele, ND, Chad Schmidt (Angie) of Bismarck, ND and Jennifer Grandalen (Ryan) of Lincoln, ND. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
