She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Severson and Miriam Severson (Sivula); her husband George Whelan; her granddaughter Anna Whelan Sjursen; and her siblings, Lone Severson and Rose Boyum (Kenneth).
She is survived by: her sons, Jeffrey Whelan (Greta) of Crystal and Douglas Whelan (Barbara) of Crystal; her granddaughters, Kate Suda (Derrick), Grafton and Grace Whelan; her great grandchildren, Nadia Whelan Sjursen, Cole Suda and Calvin Suda; her sister Betty Tryan (Bud); and her brother-in-law Richard.
