We are sad to announce that on August 4, 2024, John Tysse Jr. of Crosby, North Dakota, born in Noonan, North Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Tysse and Olga Tysse (Sims); his siblings, Orlynn Kathleen Tysse and Lloyd Milton Tysse; his son Joel David Tysse; his brother-in-law Bruce Haakedahl; his nephew Lynn Howard; and his great-nephew Lance Tysse.

He is survived by: his children, Chris Tysse, Crosby and Kathleen Tysse Galbraith of Pflugerville, TX; his grandchildren, Benjamin Tysse Galbraith and Ingrid Tysse Galbraith of Pflugerville, TX; his siblings, Art Tysse (Sandy) of Bozeman, MT and Marlys Haakedahl of Salinas, CA; his sister-in-law Sherry Tysse (Crosby); and his sister Ilene Howard (Dale).

Stakston-Martin Funeral Home of Crosby is in charge of the arrangements. in lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials be given to fund a John Tysse Jr. memorial to be placed at the Divide County Historical Society Pioneer Village, or donations can be made to the Divide County Historical Society in his honor.

“Condolences to the Tysse families on the passing of a dear friend and collector. My Dad Frank Sherring and John spent many hours over the phone and in person sharing stories of their passion for collecting antiques and especially Rumely Oil Pulls. Dad and I swapped a few parts with John when we were restoring our Model B 25-45. My wife and I were fortunate enough to spend an afternoon 2 years ago visiting with John on our way home to Alberta after attending the Rumely Expo in Rollag, MN.”
