It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Madonna Johnston of Columbus, North Dakota, born in Bowbells, North Dakota, who passed away on July 12, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Nygaard and Ruth Nygaard (Bunting); and her husband John E. Johnston. She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Rae, J. Craig Johnston, Columbus and Jeffrey Johnston (Lisa); her grandchildren, Nathan Dosch, Steven Degenstein (Tiffany), Theresa Voigt (James), Josh Johnston and Travis Johnston (Payton); her great grandchildren, Kasen, Hailey, Hannah, Walker and Lily; and her siblings, Ramona Oas (Ardell) and Sherrald Kostek (Arlan). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials are preferred to the Short Creek Cemetery, Trinity Lutheran Church, both of Columbus, or to an organization of the donor's choice.
