It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene O. Dyste of Churchs Ferry, North Dakota, born in Maddock, North Dakota, who passed away on December 25, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl B., Sr. and Addie Dyste (Nelson); his sister Doris; his granddaughter Kristie; his sister Fern (Kenneth Burcham); his son-in-law Ralph Masterson; his brother Carl (Beverly); and his brother-in-law Bruce Grimes.

He is survived by: his wife Agnes Thomas; his daughters, Karen Sjoberg (Jeff) of Prairie, Lori Jury (Jon) of Valley City, ND and Trudie Neurohr (Dennis) of Dickinson, ND; his sister Bonnie Grimes of Missoula, MT; his grandchildren, Blake Sjoberg (Cassie), Joshua Masterson, Lance Straabe (Chelsea), Brett Sjoberg (Heidi), Jesse Masterson (Trever Hill), Kayla Cash (Dan), Jeremiah Masterson (Lindsey), Kelley Sjoberg (Joe Breeser) and Lucas Jury; his stepgranddaughters, Megan Lewis (Derrick) and Erica Kuntz; and his friend David "Pete" Anderson. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
