Richard T. Whelan Obituary
We are sad to announce that on April 12, 2025, at the age of 86, Richard T. Whelan (Cavalier, North Dakota) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Joseph Whelan (JJ) and Marion Whelan (Colby); his brother George; his sister-in-law Mae Whelan; and his in-laws, Clemet and Helen Holum.
He is survived by: his spouse Cleone Holum of Mayville, ND.; his daughters, Beth Whelan of San Diego, CA and Joan Huus (Jason); his grandsons, Garrett Huus (Emily) of Grand Forks, ND., Logan Huus of Grand Forks, ND. and Wyatt Huus of Grand Forks, ND.; and his great grandchild Hudson Huus.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Askew Funeral Home (209 Elizabeth St W, Cavalier, ND 58220).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Crystal City Cemetery, Crystal Quick Response, or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
