He is survived by: his children, David Widme, Judy Widme of Cavalier, Sandy Flaten (Bob) of Park River, ND, Staci McLaughlin of Roseville, CA, Mark J. Collins of Brooks, MN and Jennifer Toso (Jeremy); his grandchildren, Karissa Fredericksen (Rocky), Camille Widme, Mark V. Smith, Jr. (Gwynne), Shane McLaughlin (Cassidy), Ethan Toso and Brendan Toso; his brother Stuart Collins (Joan); and his close friends, Pat, Carol Cook and Tim Mertz.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 12th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Askew Funeral Home (209 Elizabeth St W, Cavalier, ND 58220). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the United Lutheran Church (104 Bjornson Dr, Cavalier, ND 58220).
