He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Nord and Dorothy Nord (Weiss); his parents-in-law, Jacob and Aganetha Toews; and his daughter Teresa Slaughter (Nord).

He is survived by: his wife Maria Toews; his daughters, Maureen Karels (Garret) and Kristina Keeling (Marshall); his son-in-law Jason Slaughter; his siblings, Mark Nord (Judy), Patricia Vickerman (Dan), Nancy Arendt (Larry) and Allan Nord (Cathy); his grandchildren, Cecelia, Emily, Beau, Van, Gavin, Vivian, Chloe, Meredith and Carson; and his great grandchild Lainey.
