He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Hackenschmidt and Emma Hackenschmidt (Mosolf); his stepfather Sam Webb; and his brothers, Fred and Jacob Hackenschmidt (Barbara).

He is survived by: his siblings, Christine LaMont (Bill) of Bismarck, ND and Melvin Webb (Vicki) of Cavalier, ND.. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
