She was predeceased by: her parents, Wayne Cockerill and Lenore Cockerill. She is survived by: her husband Roger Nelson; her sons, Gregory Nelson (Michelle), Glenn Nelson (Jan) and Rodney Nelson (Kathy); her grandchildren, Justine Kapaun (Adam), Chelsey Winter (Brad), Ashley Olson (Ben), Megan Dean (Tyler), Chase Nelson (Courtney), Bradley Nelson (Andrea), Macy Pueppke (Matt), Lexi Nelson, Grant Nelson (Abi) and Drake Nelson (Kristy); her great great grandchildren, Laken, Brynlee, Joss, Jordy, Ledger, Charlie, Evvie and Baby Nelson; and her siblings, Carol Lauritsen (David) and Kevin Cockerill. She is also survived by three daughters-in-law, ten grandchildren along with eight great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Arthur UMC, Shoreham Chapel in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, or the Fountain Hills First Baptist Church in Fountain Hills, Arizona.
