He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Nygaard and Hilda Nygaard (Swenson); his wife Alma Hovet; his son Wayne; his wife Annie Hovet; his granddaughters, Margaret and Kate Nygaard; his siblings, Lloyd, Kenny, Edna Brend and Margie Halvorson; and his daughter-in-law Carol.
He is survived by: his children, Ardyce Wierson (Chuck) of Mesa, AZ and Rodger Nygaard (Sharon) of Reynolds, ND; and his sister Donna Breiland (Mike) of Buxton. He is also survived by 4 step children and numerous step-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
