He was predeceased by : his father Dennis Ralph Ward; his stepson Jesse Swift; and his brother Mark Ward. He is survived by : his daughter Katie Mergenthal Blanchette (Joe) of Prior Lake, MN; his stepson Joshua Swift (Cassie) of Ansley, NE; his grandchildren, Ellie, Hudson of Prior Lake, MN, Blakley and Greylen of Ansley, NE; his mother Ruth Ward Nilson (Maxwell) of Moorhead, MN; and his siblings, Lee Ward of Lisbon, ND, Kimberly Castleman (Gordon) of Kindred, ND and Janine Haugen (Brian) of Fargo, ND. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Haut Funeral Home (1101 5th Ave NE, Jamestown, ND 58401).
