He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Sattler and Kathryn Sattler (Thomas); his son Ronnie; his great grandchild Kaylee Marie Danielson; his father-in-law Arlin (Minnie Moum); and his brother-in-law Barry Moum.
He is survived by: his wife Nina Moum; his children, Gabe Jr. (Brenda) of Devils Lake, Ann Zorn (Gary) of Bottineau, Julie Sackenreuter (Bill) of Devils Lake and Tammy Sattler of Rugby; his grandchildren, April, Melissa, Chris, Amber, Brittany, Dusty, Megan and Kourtney; his sister Rose Marie of Billings, MT; and his siblings-in-law, Marie Sattler of Rugby, Curt Moum, Rick Moum (Pam) and Scott Moum (Terri). He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends.
