He was predeceased by: his parents, George Richard and Anna Richard; his siblings, Ernest Richard (Beatrice), Eugene Richard, Art Richard (Emeline), Floyd Richard, Irene Lagasse (Art) and Stella Schimetz (Louis); and his son-in-law Butch Indridson.

He is survived by: his wife Marlys Luella Johnson; his children, Valerie Indridson of Cavalier, ND, Jocelyn Norling (Frank) of Warroad, MN, Cynthia Kihle (Tim) of Lake Metigoshe, ND, Melissa Stanley (David) of Minot, ND, Gerard Richard of Minot, ND and Michele Pigeon (Todd) of Rolette, ND; his grandchildren, Kristin Sharp (Tony Nelson), Mindy Indridson (Christiaan Snyman), Miranda Scholler (Brett), Adam Norling (Karen), Brandon Norling (Sara), Simon Norling, Victoria Hoppe (Gregg), Zachery Kihle, Alexis Kihle (Talon Jones), Jacques Stanley, Blaise Stanley (McKenna Thiessen), Aaron Richard, Amy Richard (Andy Jordan), Andrea Richard (Jaxon Dewald), Collin Pigeon and Katelyn Pigeon; his great grandchildren, Micayla, Kinzee, Paityn, Breton, Leif, Burke, Lindy, Ella and Bentley; and his sister-in-law Carmen Richard. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Nero Funeral Home (402 Sinclair St, Bottineau, ND 58318). A rosary was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mark's Catholic Church (322 Sinclair St, Bottineau, ND 58318).
