He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Thompson and Lucille Thompson (Langdeau); his daughter Kalli Thompson; and his brothers, John, Joseph, Arlen and Alvin Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Nelson; his stepchildren, Kacie Lynn, Kalli Rae and Kyle James; and his son Kyle Thompson of Bismarck. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
