With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jerald Hjelmstad in Bismarck, North Dakota, who passed away on February 8, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Jerald may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Hjelmstad and Tilda Hjelmstad; and his brother-in-law Roy Henry. He is survived by: his wife Laura Mayo; his children, Douglas Clark (Desiree), Eric Hjelmstad (Kristen) and Amy Hjelmstad (David); and his siblings, Meredith Henry, Terry Hjelmstad and Janet Rogers. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the House of Prayer Lutheran Church. A prayer will be held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
