It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Richard Stenslie of Bismarck, North Dakota, born in Williston, North Dakota, who passed away on September 23, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Kris Stenslie and Marian Stenslie (Elsberry) of Watford City; his parents-in-law, Oscar and Selma Wennerstrom; his sister Margorie Madsen; and his brother-in-law Darryl Haugen.
He is survived by: his foster daughters, Connie, Misty and April; his wife Norma; his children, Karen Larrivee (Joe), Lisa Stenslie-Budd (Phillip) and Peder Stenslie (Tone-Lise) of New Town; his sister Judy Haugen of Minneapolis; his brothers-in-law, George Madsen of Duluth and Don Wennerstrom (Georgialee); his nieces, Kris Haugen (Dede) of Minneapolis, Jody Krug (John) of Catonsville, Anna Madsen (David) of Two Harbors and Else Madsen Goltz (Jon) of Anchorage, Alaska; his grandchildren, Andrew, Peder, Margaret, Isaac, Sam, Solvei, Kristian and Johan; and his great grandchildren, Avery and Ryker.
