He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Harper and Dorothy Harper (Christensen); his son Jimmy; his former wife Linda Jacobson; his parents-in-law, Arnold, Gertrude Hauge, Hilda Hauge, Clarence and Irene Jacobson; his brothers, Dale, Jim and Sidney; and his siblings-in-law, Irvin Moser, Danny Hauge, Pat Hauge, Jake Larson, Duane Emch, Jill Harper and Ginny Larson.
He is survived by: his wife Bertha Palen (Bert); his children, Bob Harper (Karalee) of Bismarck, ND, Becky Bernhardt (Jerry) of Wing, ND, Thomas Harper (Tina) of Flowood, MS and David Harper (Annie) of Montevideo, MN; his grandchildren, Tyler, Travis, Belle, Blake, Cameron Carlson, Ashley (Tyrone), Amber (Jay) and Allen (Tylyn); his stepchildren, Rhonda, Deane (Cindy) and Michele; his stepgrandchildren, Matt (Brenda), Amber, Derek and Kyle (Jozalyn); and his siblings-in-law, Mike Hauge (Grace), Charlie Hauge, Elsie Emch, Carol Ritz (Marvin), Melodie Hartman (Casper), Melanie Wells (Owen), Kathy Hauge and Patsy Hauge.
