He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Ely and Enid Ely (Gilman); and his sister Janice Schneider. He is survived by: his wife Gloria (Dockter); his daughters, Robin Ely and Raynell Ely (Danny Hummel); his grandchildren, Bethany Tjaden, Brad Ely and Skylar Kloster; his great grandchild Blaine Melom; and his sister Linda Ely.
