He was predeceased by: his parents, Gottfried Herman and Amelia Herman (Merkel); his siblings, Oscar, Hugo, Edna Doctor and Delores Becker; and his granddaughter-in-law Dana.
He is survived by: his wife Esther; his sons, Steven Herman (Marcia) and Bruce Herman (Lucilda); his grandsons, Chad Herman (Pam), Scott Herman (Kimberly), Jeremy Herman, Michael Herman and Tyler Herman (Karissa); and his great grandchildren, Cameron, Colton, Grace, Liam, Blaire, Kaylin and Kya Herman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
