He is survived by: his wife Connie Merkel; his children, Kristi and Nathan (Terri); his grandchildren, Sydney (Braydon), Noah, Ryan, Seyani (Brody), Jelani (Haley) and Deshani; his great grandchildren, Crue and Miles; his stepmother Judy; his siblings, Gary (Gloria) and Brenda (Ron); his siblings-in-law, Brenda (Greg), Verna, Keith (Jennifer), Lee and Kevin (Karla); his nieces and nephews, Melodi (Shaun), Megan (Jerry), Myranda (Brandon), Macy (Zach), Marissa, Eric (Jenny), Aaron Calvin (Heidi), Derick, Pat, Shawn (Mallory), Tim and Matt (Pam); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Emma, Brooke, Austyn, Ayden, Blake, Kaiden, Charlie, Hendrix and Grayson. He is also survived by special friends, shipmates, and coworkers.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Parkway Funeral Service (2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck, ND 58503). A prayer will be held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (502 N 4th St, Bismarck, ND 58501). A burial will be held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery (1825 46th St, Mandan, ND 58554).
