He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Hafner and Ottillia Herrmann Hafner; and his siblings, Delores Hafner Joos, Marjorie Hafner Wiedrich, Hubert Hafner, Eunice Hafner Hjelm and Sylvia Hafner Koppi.
He is survived by: his cousin Myron Hafner; his friend Ray Binder; his wife Jo Elaine Misslin; his children, Melissa, Mark Hafner (Denise) of Beulah and Myles Hafner (Ann) of Beulah; his grandchildren, Melissa Longtine (Trevor) of Lake Park, Minnesota., Kara Hafner Skoor (Erich) of Seattle, WA, Deanna Hafner Hunt (Brad) of Calgary, Alberta, Josten Hafner (Jalyn Duttenhefer) of Bismarck, Victoria Hafner of Beulah, Malinda Hafner, Jacob Hafner of Killdeer and Melina Longtine of Lake Park, Minnesota.; his siblings, Hilmer Hafner of Beulah and Arlene Hafner Grenz (Herb) of Hazelton, ND; and his great grandchildren, Elijah, Anabelle Hafner, Amelia, Myles Phillips and Hailey Hunt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to SMC Hospice and Home Instead.
