She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Miller and Emma Miller (Weigum); her parents-in-law, Carl and Ida Hilz; her sisters, Betty Mohl and Norma Richter; and her son-in-law Randy Van Pelt.
She is survived by: her husband Helmuth "Doc" Hilz; her children, Carey VanPelt (Kevin Flaagan), Steve Hilz (Darlene) and Carla Harildstad; her grandchildren, Erica (Aaron), Brittany, Lindsay (Nick), Heather (Dan), Steven (Lindsey), Joseph (Brooke), Daniel and Eric; and her great grandchildren, Austin, Kailynn, Taylor, Jackson, Mason and Luke.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church, Knife River Care Center or Sakakawea Medical Center.
