He was predeceased by: his parents, William Wallender and Magdalene Wallender (Schweigert); his wife Esther Bates; his son Brian; his grandson Chad Burchill; and his siblings, Hella, Bertha, Alvina, Art, Herb and William, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Burchill (Carl) of Beulah, Brent (Janis) of Beulah and Beth Zimmerman (Randy) of Beulah; his daughter-in-law Lora of Hazen; his great grandchildren, Corey Burchill (Paula), Erik, Carl, Ingrid, Casey Burchill (Maggie), Reese, Silas, Amanda Zale (Marc), Tommy, Kelcey (Grant), Kylie (John), Karlee (Colin), Hilary Zimmerman-Morgan (Demetri), Zoey, Hannah Krebs (Marshall), Emmitt, Heidi Tande (Lex), Powers Lake, Phil (Jen), Caleb, Garret, Presley and Paul (Rachel); and his close friend Rita Baranick (Jeff). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
