He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Tranby and Ragneld Tranby (Strand); his wife Doris May Ness; his siblings, Alonzo, Clifford and Edna (Bjurquist); and his grandson Shannon Paul Tranby.
He is survived by: his brother James Tranby of Des Lacs, ND; his children, Kathleen Tranby of Berthold, ND, David Tranby of Berthold, ND, Paul Tranby (Bonnie) of Eagan, MN and Mary Shaw (Marty) of Makoti, ND; and his grandchildren, Stefanie Shaw of Fargo, ND, Cory Tranby (Kristin) of Woodbury, MN, Nicholas Shaw (Holly) of West Fargo, ND and Dorisa Nelson (Dan) of Hopkins, MN. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
