He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Charbonneau and Lucy Charbonneau (Parisien); his children, Tanya Poitra and Jerry Walters; his siblings, Eugene Short, Pee Wee Charbonneau, Jimmy Charbonneau, Betty Ann LaVallie and Caroline Short; and his brother-in-law Tom Malaterre.
He is survived by: his children, Billie Jo Charbonneau of Belcourt, Winona Charbonneau of Belcourt, April Charbonneau of Belcourt, Robert Badhorse of Lower Brule, SD, Shawn Charbonneau of Fargo and William Jr. Charbonneau (Kayla Slater) of Belcourt; and his siblings, Ronnie Short (Sandra) of Belcourt, Sheila Malaterre of Belcourt, Ricky Short of Belcourt and Joyce Short of Belcourt. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 8:00 AM at the St. Ann's Catholic Church (1115 Louis Riel Dr, Belcourt, ND 58316). A rosary was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
