He was predeceased by: his parents, Leona DeCoteau (Wallette) and Francis "Butches" Sr. DeCoteau; his sister Carla DeCoteau; his nephew Michael DeCoteau Jr.; his nieces, Theresa and Adele DeCoteau; and his sisters-in-law, Linda DeCoteau and Clara "Buffy" DeCoteau.
He is survived by: his stepson Leonard Wessels of Fargo; his grandchildren, Alexis Geurrero, Joe Geurrero, Bosley Wessels, Leonard Wessels Jr., Miguel Wessels and Cante Touche; and his siblings, George DeCoteau of Belcourt, Robin DeCoteau of Belcourt, Mike DeCoteau (Andrea) of Belcourt, Robert DeCoteau of Belcourt, Leona Peltier (Allen) of Belcourt and Bryce "Bingo" DeCoteau of Belcourt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
