He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen N. Poitra and Gladys R. Poitra (Gourneau). He is survived by: his son Allen Poitra Jr.; his siblings, Frank Poitra, Jeff Poitra (Kim) and Barbara Cavanaugh; and his granddaughters, Gloria, Chloe and Elena Varela. He is also survived by his family members and friends.
