He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Alfred, Cecelia Short (Bruce), Benedict and Anna Houle (Lafountain); his father Alfred A. "Puck" Short; and his uncle Maynard Short Sr..
He is survived by: his mother Barbara Elaine Houle of Belcourt; his spouse Alexis Short (Dionne); his children, Alfred Short IV of Belcourt, Alex Short of Belcourt and Aleigha Short of Belcourt; and his siblings, Jason Houle of Belcourt, Priscilla Storbakken of Belcourt and Alicia Houle of Belcourt. He is also survived by his family members and many friends.
