He was predeceased by: his parents, Even Ekre and Grace Ekre (Thorson); his wife Marjorie; and his siblings, Ted Ekre, Evelyn Thompson and Doris Parks.
He is survived by: his sons, David Ekre Jr. and Kim Ekre. He is also survived by his sons, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many in-laws.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church (225 2nd Ave SE, Beach, ND 58621).
