He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. Waltz and Josephine Waltz (Werfel); and his siblings, John Jr., William, Jack, Henry, Fred, Emma Bonnet, Hilda Freeman, Helen Sprenger, Frieda Waltz, Alvina Waltz and Josephine Yoch.
He is survived by: his siblings, Paul of Harvey, ND and Marie Kalin of Minneapolis. He is also survived by 16 nephews; 10 nieces.
