He was predeceased by: his parents, John Steinwand and Christina Steinwand (Aldinger); his wife Doris Sayler; his father-in-law Carl Sayler (Katherine); and his siblings, Alfred, John, Fred, Ed, Jake Steinwand, Regina Engel, Bertha Grueneich, Emma Lynne, Ruth Mehlhoff and Martha Steinwand.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Steinwand of Lincoln, ND, Pam Trueblood (Gary) of Garrison, Gail Steinwand of Garrison and Graling Steinwand (Susan) of Garrison; his grandchildren, Cassie Seibel (Derick), Isaiah Steinwand (Mariya Williams), Jason Fliginger (Michelle) and Ryan Fliginger; and his great grandchildren, Zaheir Steinwand, Brycen Burgard, Rique Innes (Robert) and Viola Salgado. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
