He was predeceased by: his parents, Olen Stevens and Mamie Pennell Stevens; and his siblings, Mildred Cornett, Virginia Lewis, Artruda Wagner and Irvin Stevens.
He is survived by: his wife Johnsie Cornett Stevens; his children, Gary Stevens (Alice) of Vilas, Danny Stevens (Teresa) of Mountain City and Patricia Hodges (James); his grandchildren, Todd Stevens (Jennifer), Crystal Stevens Turbyfill (Tim), Jeffrey Hodges (Brandy), Jeremy Hodges, Gina Byrd (Allan), Andrea Tester and Kayla Cook (Conor); and his sister Naomi Isaacs (Earl). He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Zionville Baptist Church, 8174 Old US Hwy 421, Zionville, NC 28698.
