He was predeceased by: his parents, Olen Stevens and Mamie Pennell Stevens; his wife Sylvia Baird Stevens; and his sisters, Mildred Cornett, Virginia Lewis and Artruda Wagner.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon Smith (Mike) of North Wilkesboro, Glenda Duncan (Richard) of Jefferson and Robbie Stevens (Kathy) of Sparta; his grandchildren, Kimberly McMillan (Ramey) of Dallas, Kathryn Stevens of Columbia, Erin Stevens of Sparta, Elson Cornett (Eleanor) of Waxhaw and Trey Stevens of Foscoe; his great grandchildren, Darian Anderson, Lilah Rae McMillian of Dallas, Rebecca, Reese and Rhett Cornett of Waxhaw; and his siblings, Naomi Isaacs (Earl) of Vilas and Wesley Stevens (Johnsie) of Zionville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
