He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Ira" Gardner and Nancy Whitley Gardner; and his sisters, Molly Kruger and Iris Adams. He is survived by: his wife Nancy M. Gardner; his daughter Lee Ball (Jeremy); his grandchildren, Robin and Kynnleigh Ball; and his siblings, Faye Ellis (Perry), Kathy Ayscue (Danny) and Ray Gardner.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Gethsemane Memorial Gardens (809 W Gannon Ave, Zebulon, NC 27597).
