We bid farewell to Ronald Alfred Johnston of Zebulon, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 26, 2025 at the age of 81. Ronald touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Courtland and Lois Marion Mercer Johnston; his wife Catherine Johnston; and his siblings, Donald Ray Johnston and Fairy Buskirk.
He is survived by: his children, Amy Kendrick (Ray), Wesley Johnston (Crystal) and Sarah Strickland (Allen); his siblings, Nina Snapp, Frankie Johnston and Russell Courtland Johnston, Jr.; his grandchildren, Thomas James Kendrick, Julia Marie Kendrick (Sydney), Emma Grace Johnston, Lillian Rose Johnston, Nathan Garrett Strickland, Elizabeth Camille Strickland and Davis Allen Strickland; and his pet Nugget.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home (545 Ramsey St, Fayetteville, NC 28301). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Camp Ground United Methodist Church (4625 Campground Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28314). A committal service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Camp Ground United Methodist Church Cemetery (4625 Campground Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28314).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Campground UMC Choir Fund.
