It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Hilda Gay (Zebulon, North Carolina), who passed away on December 25, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Junie Erick and Blanche Duke Gay; her husband Angus Wilton Gay; her sons, Anthony "Andy" Wilton Gay and Randy Angus Gay; and her siblings, Broadis Gay, Ronald Lytchford Gay and Maggie Marie Gay.
She is survived by: her daughter Cheryl Lanier; her daughters-in-law, Laura Ann Gay and Judy Johnson Gay; her brother George Lawrence Gay; her grandchildren, Inga Beck (Joe), Paxton Lanier (Kate), Jake Gay, Abigail "Abby" Goulbourne (James) and Jordan Angus Gay; and her great grandchildren, Dyson, Keegan, Cullen, Angus and Jones.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory (211 W 3rd St, Wendell, NC 27591). A graveside service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Gethsemane Memorial Gardens (809 W Gannon Ave, Zebulon, NC 27597).
Contributions can be made to the Zebulon Baptist Church Children's Christmas Fund, the Church Courtyard or the ZBC boy scout troop 524.
