He was predeceased by: his parent Alvin Ray; and his brother Winfred "Windy" Ray. He is survived by: his parent Mildred Vaughan Ray; his daughter Shauna Poole; his sister Valinda Poole Barnes of Asheville; and his grandson Phillip David Maxwell. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
