He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Esther Boone Oakley; and his siblings, Joe, Vernon and Bennie.
He is survived by: his sons, Mitchell John Oakley and Kevin Calder; his grandchildren, Noah Oakley, Cora Lee Oakley, Eli Oakley and Tristan Oakley; and his siblings, Betty Hopkins (Tommy), Doris Braxton (Sherrill), Margaret White, Beulah Smith, Jesse Oakley (Geneva), Herman Oakley and George Oakley (Evelyn).
