It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Howard David Handschumacher of Youngsville, North Carolina, who passed away on February 21, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Talmadge V. Handschumacher and Edith Cline Handschumacher; and his siblings, James (Lucille), Harry (Mildred), Charles (Geraldine), Hollie (Ruth), Donald (Carolyn), Dwight, Harold Lloyd, Jackie, Ella Stewart (Hudson), Gertrude Gerken (Howard), Mary Lou Jones (Melvin), Peggy Brooker (Andrew) and June Williams (Ray).
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Bach Handschumacher; his children, Dr. Jeffrey Handschumacher (Shannon) of North Carolina, Dr. Jason Handschumacher (Erica) of South Carolina and Jonna Sagowitz (Ross) of Florida; his grandchildren, Elijah, Landon, Jacob Handschumacher, Madalynn, Annie and Jonathan Sagowitz; his great grandchildren, Mirah and Mavess of Florida; his brother Gerald Handschumacher (Betty) of Belpre, Ohio; his sister-in-law Carolyn Handschumacher of Newport, Ohio; and his pet Sadie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home (801 Victor St, Belpre, OH 45714). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rockland Church, Belpre, Ohio or a charity of your choice in his name.
