He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Harrison Jones Sr. and Louise Mills Jones; his spouse Merial Elizabeth Williamson Jones; and his siblings, Lula Mae Jones Wiley and Willie Matthew.

He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Robert H Wiley of Mt. Holly, Nathan Wiley of Ohio, Curtis Williamson (Carol) of Danville, VA., Meredith Wiley McGee (Kevin) of Alaska, Ada Wiley of Ohio and Lauren Hardy of Alaska; his goddaughters, Merial Williamson Roberson (Dewayne) of Burlington, NC and Stephanie Williamson of Yanceyville, NC; his close friend Elizabeth Foster of Yanceyville, NC; his cousin Nita Turner of Yanceyville, NC; and his friends, William "Jitters" Lea and Patricia Price Lea of Yanceyville, NC. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 2 to 7 p. m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time. (Per CDC Guidelines: Facial Masks are required).
