She was predeceased by: her parents, James W. Garland and Rachel Willis Garland; and her siblings, Bessie Oliver Madden, James Garland, Norton Garland and Robert Garland.

She is survived by: her sister Voters League; her son LaMarc Garland; her grandchildren, Laia and Lauren Garland; and her daughter-in-law Kaminda.
