She was predeceased by: her parents, Haywood Walton and Willie Mae Dooms Walton; and her husband Larry D. Blackwell. She is survived by: her daughters, Shenel Blackwell of Yanceyville, NC and Regina Mays of Thomasville, NC; and her siblings, Julia Hester of Danville, VA, Margaret Walton of Danville, VA, Lawanda Scearce (Michael) of Danville, VA, Carolyn Walton of Danville, VA and Conwell Walton (Drucilla) of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home (707 Wilson St, Danville, VA 24541). A graveside service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Highland Burial Park (3049 N Main St, Danville, VA 24540).
