He is survived by: his wife Elaine Lunsford Briggs; his daughter Rhonda Thompson of Yanceyville; his grandchildren, Hunter Thompson (Shawnee) of Yanceyville and Hannah Thompson (Olivia) of Yanceyville; his brother Michael A. Briggs of Roxboro, NC; and his sister-in-law Lou Slade of Yanceyville. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
