It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Catherine (Clayton) Hamlett of Yanceyville, North Carolina, who passed away on February 17, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband William Allen Hamlett; her parents, Wiley Van Clayton and Lessie Rudd Clayton; her great grandchild Jacob Rice; her children-in-law, Daryl Rice and Tina Hamlett; and her children, Daniel Hamlett (Danny) and Kathy Nicholson.
She is survived by: her sister Shirley; her siblings-in-law, Lizzie Truitt (Harvey), Doris Travis (William), Mamie Hinkle (Curtis), Lena Byrd (Richard), Alma McKinney (William), Shirley Wilkins (Andrew), Arlene Massey (Willie), James Clayton (Louise), Thomas Clayton (Claudie), Wilbur Clayton and Willie Samuel Clayton; her children, David Hamlett, Connie Rice (Scotty) and Laurie Solomon (Darrell); her grandchildren, Tanya Wilson (Nik), Josh Nicholson (Monica), Jeremy Nicholson (Megan), Nick Rice (Jessi), Houston Rice, Ashley Fazzino (Steven), Danielle Hamlett, Katherine Douglas, Kristie Maynard (Luis) and Chad Solomon (Summer); and her great grandchildren, Harper, Charlotte Wilson, Gavin, Sheala Nicholson, Nora, Ella Nicholson, Analeigh, Harlow Fazzino, Shilah Rivers, Katie, Maddie Rice, Noah Solomon, William, Korah Douglas, Elaynah, Daniel and Benjamin Guzman. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
