She is survived by: her husband Melvin Louis Bowman, Sr.; her siblings, Noah Mathis, Sanford Mathis, Marilyn Dobbins Long, Reata Bryant and Virginia Messick; her son Melvin Louis Bowman, Jr.; her grandchildren, Ariel Bowman, Jacob Bowman, Elizabeth Bowman, Noah Bowman and Xander Bowman; her great grandchildren, Draco and Marcelene; her siblings, Velna Hensdale Riggins, Clarris Collins (Tommy), Audrey Hobson, Dale Mathis (Nettie Ruth) and Glenn Cloyce Mathis; and her siblings-in-law, Albert Bryant and Peggy Mathis. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
